Mutual Admiration Society
Recently, a few pro-mk consultants started their own blogs. While some of the posts are good information, it seems there are only a handful of readers and posters. The problem is they have hard time staying on topic, they constantly criticize other blog owners and posters.
These are supposed to be good, christian woman. Being in MK, aren’t they supposed to stay away from negativity? What happen to the “Golden Rule”? Having a different opinion about what is posted on a blog is one thing, attacking the owner is quite different.
The anti-mk blogs are providing a public service informing unsuspecting victims, disclosing unethical behavior and providing truth. Unforunately, some people don’t want you to see the truth and instead of attacking the message, they attack the messenger.

Hi! What you have posted is my main beef with these supposed “positive” blogs. They are not at all positive and they spend all of their time trying to counter what is said on the anti-MK blogs. How are they doing anything different then what they have accused so many of us for?
Fighting Fatigue…I AGREE!! It irritates me that they spend so much time doing exactly what they are blaming PT for doing. And THAT’S not even accurate!
My pro blog is not like this, just for the record.
mkrules- I have looked at your blog, you are trying to keep it positive.
MK Rules, I have seen your blog and I think yours is about the only real pro-MK blog. I think though that by linking to the one other blog it could hurt the reputation of your blog. Just my 2 cents.
I wanted to comment that even though I am anti-Mary Kay, I can still appreciate those who want to work their businesses the right way. I personally will never join a direct sales company again and anyone who asks my opinion, well, I’ll give it to them.
I think that blogs like MK Rules can help because although her blog is positive, it is not MK anal, know what I mean? There is advice given on sales, different tools, etc. that can help a consultant in her business.
Now, some of these other supposed MK sites are just plain crazy. The ladies over at Consultant Companion do not want to hear any kind of business advice. It is a high-five club over there.
The other supposed “Pro” blogs are not really doing anything to help consultants. It is a war basically to tear down Pink Truth and any other anti-MK site. How does that make them any better then what they are accusing us of? It doesn’t. Actually, it makes then appear worse because at least with those of us with the anti-sites, you know what you’re getting when you come to our sites.
I’m anti, but I guess I would be considered anti-light. There’s a new term for a blog! Everyone has different personalities.
Back in the day when I was still pink, Tracy and I had a few rounds but even then I still respected her for standing up for what she believed in. Even when I was high in the pink fog, I thought, “Man, that girl’s got some balls!” Honestly- how many of us would be willing to put our reputations at stake the way she has for something we believe in?
We worked out our differences over time and you know what? She has been nothing but super nice to me and I have no reason to bash her, and I won’t.
I see both sides of this issue.
I think there would be fewer of these new “pro-MK” blogs if their comments/perspectives were allowed on the “anti-MK” blogs. So these new pro-MK blogs were started to give the women their own voice and space to “vent.” So you will see their topics not ranging far or away from commentary/reaction/response to what is happening in the anti-MK world (one blog in particular).
As one of the 3 blog-owners of the former MKVoices, I will tell you it is a BEAR trying to remain neutral, to allow all points of view/perspectives AND keep the useful, relevant information flowing to the masses. It really is easier and less of a headache to simply “pick a side.” But we took the road less traveled by and gave it a valiant effort for 4 months!
I started the successor blog PinkVoices for those active users of MKVoices who still wanted a place to hang out online. I post articles occasionally, but I decided to make it a private blog. I didn’t want anyone accusing me of taking sides, judging where my “loyalties” were by what I allowed or didn’t allow on the blog, and I don’t have time to babysit adults online. It has been a fairly simple task to only allow access to those who were avid users of the former MKV and it’s easy enough to provide them a place.
The only challenge now is that some are complaining there is not ENOUGH activity on PinkVoices. That’s ok by me! I’ll leave the drama/sniping/pie-tossing to those on either side of the fence!
If people want drama, they have lots to choose from on the ProAnti-MK Buffet!
Why on earth SHOULD the anti-MK blogs let the “other side” post their comments? That’s not what it’s for, and I respect their commitment to not let the waters get muddied with some crazy pink women.
None of these blogs are pure democracies and the people who run them will run they as they please.
It is what it is.
My comment was geared towards answering the question of why the pro-MK blogs popped up and why their content is as it is.
I don’t think I ever said the anti-MK blogs SHOULD allow all perspectives if balance and neutrality is not their goal/agenda. They SHOULD do whatever their goal/mission dictates.
I think they should allow respectful comments from all sides. If it gets out of hand, then moderate certain posters. I don’t think anyone should talk someone “out” of their decisions, but try to understand them and learn from them. However, it is up to each blog owner. I am just a big believer that if you are truly right, you will accept all sides of the debate and show how you are still in the right with proof.
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you
